Hats Off BBQ

August 30 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Hats Off is a not-for-profit organisation that has recently established an association. The aim is
to provide a safe and supportive environment for Deaf and Hard of Hearing men to attend the
BBQ and chat event, held every two months in Perth, Western Australia.
The BBQ and chat event includes free sausage sizzles and drinks for participants. While there is full
support and respect participants who require support workers, the Hats Off Board has
agreed that paid support workers (excluding volunteers) accompanying a client to the event will
be asked to contribute $5 if they would like to have a sausage sizzle and a drink.
In addition, while the BBQ and chat event is currently designed for Deaf and Hard of Hearing
men, there may be times when participants are supported by female support workers. In these
situations, Hats Off kindly ask female support workers to remain nearby but outside the event area
(out of sight) unless their client requires assistance.
This approach helps maintain a comfortable and safe space for the men attending the event.

Location: Neil MCDougall Park, 18 Ley St, Como
