SURVEY — Dual Sensory Loss – University of Sydney.

Research by Annmaree Watharow.
You may remember when Annmaree and Moira visited DBWA Connect in May this year and Annmaree is coming back to DBWA Connect Hub on Wednesday 20 November.
Dual sensory impairment (DSI) refers the experience of having combined sensory losses (i.e., vision loss and hearing loss in combination, from any cause or severity).
Dual sensory impairment is increasingly common in older people, yet good quality, up-to-date information about how to navigate the complexity of living with it (e.g., information about strategies, supports) remains scarce. To address this issue we are aiming to produce a consumer handbook about dual sensory impairment and aim to ensure the information is as comprehensive, accessible and useful as possible.
We are seeking participants with knowledge and experience of dual sensory impairment to complete a survey about various aspects of combined sensory loss.
We want to know the issues and topics that are most important to you, and we want to know about the areas where either more, different or better information is needed:
The type of information you have ever wished you could have accessed for yourself.
We want to hear your thoughts about the type of information that should be included in the consumer and carer handbook to make it useful, comprehensive, relevant and user-friendly.
Completing the survey will take less than 30 minutes.
The survey is 30 questions and if you choose to participate an online version of the survey can be found on the following link:
Participation is voluntary, and all responses will be de-identified meaning your responses will be anonymous.
If you have any further questions about this survey please refer to Participant Information Statement HE000556 or to email annmaree.watharow@sydney.edu.au
