International White Cane Day Group Walk

October 19 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Deafblind West Australians invite you to join us on Sunday 19 October at Tomato Lake Reserve for our Annual White Cane Day Sponsored Walk to raise funds for our peer support group and to celebrate International White Cane Day 2025.

WHAT IS A SPONSORED WALK ?

A sponsored walk is a fundraising event where many people walk together to raise money to support their charity by collecting donations of money from people they know.

HOW CAN YOU HELP ?

You can help DBWA fundraise money by asking your friends, family, neighbours and colleagues to fill in the DBWA White Cane Day Sponsored Walk Form to say they will donate money for you to walk around Tomato Lake.

  • MONEY CAN BE PAID THE FOLLOWING WAYS:
  • CASH payment
  • DBWA Square Reader Tap-and-Go payment at the event

Everyone is welcome to participate in the walk with our Deafblind Community and help raise funds for DBWA.

We welcome.

Deafblind.

Deaf. Hard of hearing. Hearing.

Blind. Low Vision.

Communication Guides.

Sighted Guides.

Support Workers.

Sign Guides.

Auslan students.

Auslan Interpreters.

CODA’s.

Family. Friends. Old and new.

Colleagues.

Supporters. Volunteers.

The more people who join our walk, the more money we can raise.

You can walk around the lake as many times as you want to or as many times as you can.

Every step you take will help raise deafblind awareness and every dollar you raise will help DBWA to continue to support our Deafblind Community in WA.

Did you know that you don’t have to walk to help raise money for DBWA ?

If you are unable to walk (or walking is not your thing) you can still support us by collecting sponsorship donations and a DBWA Community member will do the walk for you.

You can still come along on the day and cheer our walkers on and join us for a sausage sizzle lunch.

When: Sunday 19 October

Where: Tomato Lake Reserve 19-31 Oats Street Kewdale

Time: 9.30am – 3pm

Group walk kicks off at 10am followed by a Sausage Sizzle Lunch or you can buy something yummy from the Tomato Lake Cafe.

Please let us know if you are coming so we can make sure we have enough sausages to feed our hungry walkers and their supporters.
