DESCRIPTION:Ngarla Maumahara – Our Remembrance is the only Indigenous ANZAC Day Service in Western Australia. \nThe inclusion of Indigenous cultures in an ANZAC service creates a truly unique and poignant cultural experience for this significant day. \nThe service opens with a smoking ceremony\, welcome to country and a special joint ceremonial welcome from Aboriginal & Maori dancers for Veterans\, dignitaries and guests. \nCorroberee and Haka will take place at the laying of the wreaths. \nThe Ode Of Remembrance will be spoken in Noongar\, Maori\, English. \nAfter the service there will be “Live Music” from local Noongar musician Natasha Blurton and the band ORA\, along with food trucks featuring traditional Maori food and other hot food\, with ice-cream\, coffee and drinks available. \n  \nAn Auslan Interpreter will be present for the speeches of the event from 10:30am to 12:30pm.

DESCRIPTION:Fremantle is a unique location to honour Anzac Day as it was the last Australian experience many soldiers and sailors had before departing our shores to join the war effort overseas. \n  \nAnzac Day will commence with a traditional silent Anzac Day Dawn service at the Fremantle War Memorial\, home to the plaques honouring the 849 Fremantle servicemen and women who failed to return from WW1. The Fallen Soldier War Memorial in North Fremantle will hold a community service following the Dawn service. The morning commemorations will conclude with the traditional Anzac Day March through the streets of Fremantle finishing at Walyalup Koort. \n  \nDawn Service\nDate: Thursday 25 April 2024\nTime: 5.50–6.30am\nLocation: Fremantle War Memorial\, Monument Hill \nTransport: There will be early trains operating by Transperth for the service. There will also be a shuttle bus taking patrons to and from the train station and Beach St carpark to Monument Hill on the day.
