DESCRIPTION:Deafblind West Australians invite you to join us on Saturday 14 October at Tomato Lake Reserve for our Annual White Cane Day Sponsored Walk to raise funds for our peer support group and to celebrate International White Cane Day 2023.\n\n\n\nWhat is a sponsored walk ?\nA sponsored walk is a fundraising event where many people walk a set course or distance together to raise money to support their charity by collecting donations or pledges from people they know.\n\n\nYou can help DBWA fundraise money by asking your friends\, family\, neighbors and colleagues to fill in the DBWA White Cane Day Sponsored Walk Form to say they will give you money to walk around Tomato Lake.\n\nMoney can be paid the following ways:\n– CASH payment\n– Direct Debit payment to DBWA Bank Account\n– DBWA Square Reader Tap-and-Go payment at the event\n(All payment details are on the DBWA Sponsored Walk Form)\n\nEveryone is welcome to participate in the walk with our Deafblind Community and help raise funds for DBWA.\n\n\nWe welcome people who are Deaf. People who are hard of hearing. People who are hearing.\nPeople who are blind. People who are low vision.\nAuslan students. Auslan Interpreters.\nCommunication Guides.\nSupport Workers.\nSighted guides.\nColleagues.\nFamily. Friends. Old and new.\nSupporters. Volunteers.\n\n\nThe more people who join our walk\, the more money we can raise.\n\nYou can walk a set number of steps or laps if you want or you can walk for a set amount of time. Andrew Wolfe (Supported Jim Jefferies)\, Simone Springer (The Motherhood)\, and Jay Raymond (Fresh Comedy)\n\nPeter Rowsthorn is a high energy\, fast paced stand up comedian one minute and a measured character actor the next. A masterful MC\, he has been performing his slick & blistering stand up for three decades.\n\nMost recently\, Peter has appeared regularly on “Thank God You’re Here” series 1\, 2\, 3 and 4\, popped up on “Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation” and can currently be seen hosting the delightful “Can We Help” on the ABC on Friday nights.
